Seconded - I use FreeBSD as a Desktop daily at work, as I need to develop
on the same machines I am running the code on, but I wouldnt choose it as
a general purpose Desktop outside of the office. OSX is where it's at for
a Unix desktop (and a hackintosh laptop is cheap and fun to makeA for
a small machinee to carry about with you)
