Installing Xorg (running inside VMware)

There are already some FreeBSD images built which you can download.

This will save loads of time too..

On the real question though, it could be that the Ctrl-Tab sequence 
switches out of VMWare.
If you really want to make it work, download one of the images and then 
look at the config file for Xorg.
Personally, I do not use X on my images since I use them as disposable 
servers.
