I get old stuff from this place:
	ftp://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-Archive/old-releases/

e.g. the portsnap pkg for 6.0 is located at:
ftp://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-Archive/old-releases/i386/6.0-REL=
EASE/packages/sysutils/portsnap-0.9.4.tbz

So the following should be able to fetch and install portsnap:
pkg_add ftp://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-Archive/old-releases/i386=
/6.0-RELEASE/packages/sysutils/portsnap-0.9.4.tbz
