It could just be the same phenomenon that occured on the  UK LUG Slackware=
=20
list, in that at some point it was mentioned on "Userlocal" and from then=20
on became a world-wide mailing list mainly because it was polite in a=20
'British' kind of way and has stayed so.  =20
