i checked too the local handbook
its nice , if u have find ur way to the windows
desktops, u can try reading it from any browser

/usr/share/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook
en_US.ISO8859-1: for english 

in KDE alt+f2, opens a dialog 
type konsole : opens a console
type xterm   : opens a xterm
type <any program> [if u know the name]: it opens
