Some keys don't function as they should using Putty

Whenever I use Putty to log into one of my Linux boxes, I can use the
Home/End keys to move to the start/end of a line (whether it be bash or
vi etc). But in FreeBSD, the Home/End keys just print funny characters
(eg. tilde) instead.

Have I got to change keyboard/screen mapping or something to get them to
work properly?

Thanks,
Steve :)
