I have been working hard on putting together a 100% BSD licensed PC System for about a year for general interest. I have made slow but steady process. The system now consists of FreeBSD a customised TWM desktop, Apache, Postgress, and PHP. I also have Tcl/Tk and have built a simple but usable text editor, wiki, calculator and a number of other bits of software.

I have a number of issues that are difficult

1. Is there a BSD licensed Tcl/Tk text editor - google seems to show nothing. I find vi pretty unfriendly for day to day use.

2. Is it possible to get Post and Get working in Amaya. Even if it was only on my own server it would be helpful.

3. Is there a BSD licensed wiki anywhere

There are lots of OS from the ground up projects eg Syllable but in a year of searching on the net I have not found a single person embarked on a similar project of making a usable system by using BSD licensed tools that exist. If anyone knows of anyone else engaged in a similar project or wants to help I would like to know.

Regards

Ed Joyce
