There has been some talk on this newsgroup re a London BSD UG meeting.

I have been running a small London BSD User Group since Christmas - which has been detailed on this list. Website is at www.samite.co.uk/londonbsd We are having a meeting next Thursday at the Prince of Teck in Earls Court Road. The purpose of this meeting is to look BSD licenced desktop software amaya, bsd licenced wikis, text editors etc - some put together by members. A laptop will be used to demo this.

The reason that this venue is used is that I have access to a site very close by with a BSD desktop.

The reason that I set up the group is that Linux User Groups tend to meet in pubs and you never see a Linux system or else they have lectures. You never see Linux User Group members using Linux in my experience, which I think is a pity. I did not want a BSD user group that was the same.

All I want to do is communicate with BSD users, particularly desktop users, and swap experience and software. If anyone wants to come along they are welcome.

I will communicate with the other London BSD group to avoid any confusion.

Regards

Ed Joyce

I'd be up for whenever the next one is likely to be, but I can't do
this week.

As only one person replied I suggest we cancel for this week, sorry Sam.
Perhaps it was a bit short notice so I suggest that we make a time a bit
further ahead. How about a regular spot on the first Wednesday of the
month, ie first meet on 7th September?

Also I'm usually there on a Saturday afternoon if anyone wants to pop by.

Chris
