Andy,

I can definitely help you on this one. The one that I
tried that worked is the Freesbie CD. It is absolutely
excellent. If you decide to go the whole hog and
install BSD I would recommend FreeBSD 5.3 - it seems a
lot easier than 5.0 in my experience of half a dozen
installs.

If you are in London the London BSD UG can help you.
We have a BSD machine running in a central London site
that you could play around with if you want. It has an
Internet connection and I am currently loading it up
with apache, php, postgres etc.
