I liked Brighton when we were all down there for BSDCon in 2002, but it does
have the feeling of being the last place on Earth for the majority of people
in the rest of the UK - it's a long way to travel to, unless you live in
Brighton. :-)
Of course, if we were being truly fair, if the majority of the list were
English, we would hold the meeting somewhere just West of Birmingham, and if
we wanted to find the centre of the UK as a whole (including Wales and
Scotland, if not NI), we'd be meeting in... Warrington.
Neither particularly appeals, but Manchester is only a 20 minute drive from
Warrington, so *technically*... :-)
Let's see what other ideas come up first, eh? But if there aren't any other
user groups in the UK planning anything, I suspect Manchester might be
talked into doing something low-key and relaxed. :-)
