missing /dev/tty0

None on mine, even though I've got linux_base. I guess the emulation
layer (or whatever it's called) is meant to pick up anything to
/dev/tty0 and redirect it to /dev/ttyv0. Are you sure you've got the
linux module loaded up? kldstat will give you the answer.

True. Maybe if the linux module isn't loaded you don't have to rebuild

You've got good friends. It's the sort of bodge I resort to because
I don't have any good friends to control my more reckless instincts ;)
