Hi,

Haven't heard a bad word about nmap, seems to do the job, details below..

Port: nmap-3.48_1
Path: /usr/ports/security/nmap
Info: Port scanning utility for large networks
Maint: eik at FreeBSD.org
Index: security ipv6
B-deps: pcre-4.4
R-deps: pcre-4.4

Nmap is a utility for network exploration or security auditing. It
supports ping scanning (determine which hosts are up), many port
scanning techniques, version detection (determine service protocols
and application versions listening behind ports), and TCP/IP
fingerprinting (remote host OS or device identification). Nmap also
offers flexible target and port specification, decoy/stealth scanning,
sunRPC scanning, and more.

William

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a decent port scanner tool (apart from portscanner) and
tcp port proxy that is available in the ports based on there own experience
of using them.

Any info appreciated ...
Thanks for the info on the conference http://www.pawscon.com/pricing, from a
web developer point of view the php5 based on OO will hopefully start
converting the Java programmers to php :) or at least help in the argument.
