HELP: FreeBSD 5.2 crashing when doing fsck?

Are you using one of those IBM Deskstars (the IDE 'deathstars as we call them)
which die after a while? In the past several years Deskstars have had
a manufacturer defect and was one of the reasons why the whole ibm harddrive
department was dumped to hitachi.
