I've got a Vigor 2600We ADSL router thingy and it's worked fairly well
for me, although the interface is a little quirky.

The linksys WRT54G routers seem to be cheap, and are running Linux
underneath so you can play with them a bit.

It's funny you should mention this; I'm in a bit of a quandary about a
similiar issue. I want an ADSL wireless router that lets me do traffic
prioritisation, so that half life packets get priority over everything
else. Ideally, I'd like to get my FreeBSD directly connected to the
ADSL line so I can use ipfw and ALTQ, which I know to some degree. But
if it's possible with an external box, that'd be handy too. Any ideas?
