Colo management

I'm looking for advice on things like console servers and PDU kit to
remotely manage servers in a rack at a colo.
      
Suggestions made to me so far have been to look at Cyclades TS1000 and
AlterPath kit.
      
Are there standard setups people like or have experience of?
      
Incidentelly, if there are people out there who really understand how to
run a colo and are looking for a job I've got a vacancy.
