=46rom 4.8-RELEASE, it's sufficiently close that you can just cvsup the
RELENG_4_9 sources directly and compile in one step.

Yes -- this all looks good.

If all you want is the sources, then you don't need cvsroot-all -- the
cvsroot collections will get you large chunks of the main FreeBSD CVS
source repository -- that's a lot more than you need just to keep a
machine up to date.
