freeradius

has anyone managed to tie freeradius in with mysql?

I've got it running sweet, and have followed the protocol for =
radius.conf etc to make freeradius aware of mysql, however on cranking =
her up in debug mode I get:-

Module: Loaded SQL=20
rlm_sql (sql): Could not link driver rlm_sql_mysql: file not found
rlm_sql (sql): Make sure it (and all its dependent libraries!) are in =
the search path of your system's ld.
radiusd.conf[14]: sql: Module instantiation failed.=20

I have tried a symbolic link from /usr/local/mysql/lib -> /usr/local/lib

but still the same error...anyideas?  I'm running on freebsd5.0 with =
mysql 4.0.12 installed as a binary in /usr/local/mysql

any help would be much appreciated!
