Well this evening I revert the registry hack, stopped Samba being a PDC, removed
the trust accounts from /etc/passwd and /usr/local/private/smbpasswd and
the XP machine still connected fine. So either there is some ghost
credentials still allowing to connect or 2.2.8a just DTRT.
