I've got it working fine now. A PDC is needed for WinXP but the XP box does
not need
to be set up to login to the domain, normal windows network login is fine -
go figure.
A wierd registry hack is needed too:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\netlogon\parameters\
"RequireSignOrSeal"=dword:00000000
