Kernel Compile

Have you put:

    usbd_enable="NO"

in /etc/rc.conf.

If you haven't then the USB daemon will be loaded.  And a quick check of
the usbd man page informs me:

    If the ``usb'', ``ohci'' and ``uhci'' modules are not loaded, 
    it will load them automatically.
