I know that *some* folks on Zen can get to the site, but I'm wondering
if its to do with the network range I've been assigned here. That's
certainly what Zen tech support have told me just now.

Yep.., When with PIPEX, I was using the SMC ADSL Barriccade which worked
for near on two years flawlessly. Now I've got this Draytek Vigor 2600
router that Zen recommended to me.

The thing is, its set up with its default, basic setting for simple
connectivity. That said, why would the Win2K & XP boxes work fine, but
not one single *nix box?
