Mounting DVD

Except: I can't mount DVD-RAMs:

root at bsd2:/]$ mount -t cd9660 /dev/acd0c /cdrom
cd9660: /dev/acd0c: Invalid argument

And: I can't mount DVD-Rs that haven't been fixated yet:

root at bsd2:/]$ mount -t cd9660 /dev/acd0a /cdrom
cd9660: /dev/acd0a: Input/output error

The last one is probably fair enough but one of the reasons I bought this
drive was that I wanted to be able to copy DVD-RAMs to DVD-Rs. Can I do
this without mounting? 'dd' maybe?
