FreeBSD 4.6 as VMWare Guest OS

Don't know whether this will be of any help to you but I've managed to get 
the installer to get past the hanging stage by changing the Virtual Machine 
config.

I've changed it to:
Memory: 256MB
HDD: 4GB SCSI (Changed from IDE)
CDROM: IDE (With raw access enabled)
Floppy: Mapped to A:
NIC: Bridged
Serial Port: Using COM1
Parallel Port: Using LPT1
(I also removed the USB controller)

I don't know exactly which change fixed the problem, suppose I should have 
changed things one at time!
Maybe I'll look into it a bit more later.
