I've got a feeling supporting these is probably going to be very similar
to how the ltmdm port works - that is - rewrite the Linux OS specific wrapper
code for the vendor-provided software modem.

It would be nice to get this done, but I have a lot on my plate as it is :(
If someone else wants to have a go, though, I can offer ideas/assistance.
