The sun nic's are hard coded, as all nics are, with a unique hardware
address. On the sparc hardware this can be overridden (and is by
default) with the prom var local-mac-address? being set to true.

Hmm, might be like the NICs in Sun T1's which have the
same MAC address on both ports for failover
porpoises...
