which shell to learn "Shell programming"?!

'sh' (Bourne shell) to begin with, as it's on every UNIX system.

For more functionality some people use 'bash' (most Linux distros use
'bash' as their 'sh' so a lot of Linux stuff uses bash extras) or 'ksh'.

I'd probably advise against using csh/tcsh for scripting.
