Strange PPP error

I was wondering if anyone had seen this before and knew what it meant.

Every now and then PPP generates the following message;

colon ppp[1103]: Warning: Unrecognised CBCP packet (code 5, leng
th 4) 

Sometimes it seems to cause the line to drop, sometimes it doesn't.

Relevent system details;
FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE
Demon Internet Premier Connect Plus
BT Surftime Anytime
Analogue 56K modem
