They don't. This is the problem.

The only conflict with my AGP card was USB, and switching the IRQ off 
solved that. I've even fiddled about with shadowing and ACPI. Nothing.

I do, however, get all sorts of errors in my XFree86 logs like this:

repeated multiple times. The log's about 100K, so I'm not going to post it 
here. I wonder what's going on with my card? It works fine under Linux and 
Windows, as said previously.

I wonder whether I should swap my BIOS back to an earlier version. However,
