FreeBSD4.3 upgrade.

Hi there,

For some reason I can't access the handbook online, and I am downloading the 
4.3 iso - just wondering what will happen if I do an upgrade, will I lose my 
desktop configuration or Xfree - currently using KDE2.1 and XFree4.0.3 
respectivley.

In other words what happens during an upgrade, are config files overwritten 
or is it just a case of updating the binaries.
