Here's a personal opinion for you... This is a www/cvs/mail server I've
just installed:
rik at lost:~% mount :)
/dev/ad0s1a on / (ufs, local, noatime, soft-updates)
/dev/ad2s1e on /tmp (ufs, local, noatime, nodev, nosuid, soft-updates)
/dev/ad0s1d on /usr (ufs, local, noatime, nodev, soft-updates)
/dev/ad2s1f on /usr/local/www (ufs, local, noatime, nodev, nosuid,
soft-updates)
/dev/ad0s1e on /usr/home (ufs, local, noatime, nodev, nosuid,
soft-updates)
/dev/ad2s1g on /var (ufs, local, noatime, nodev, noexec, nosuid,
soft-updates)
/dev/ad2s1h on /backup (ufs, local, noatime, nodev, noexec, nosuid,
synchronous, soft-updates)
procfs on /proc (procfs, local)
rik at lost:~% df :)
Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/ad0s1a 194M 41M 137M 23% /
/dev/ad2s1e 992M 672K 912M 0% /tmp
/dev/ad0s1d 1.9G 1.1G 719M 61% /usr
/dev/ad2s1f 9.7G 87M 8.8G 1% /usr/local/www
/dev/ad0s1e 34G 4.9M 31G 0% /usr/home
/dev/ad2s1g 4.8G 2.1M 4.5G 0% /var
/dev/ad2s1h 19G 1.0K 17G 0% /backup
procfs 4.0K 4.0K 0B 100% /proc

And yes, those emoticons are part of my prompt. It frowns if the last
command returned a failure instead of success. Aparently I have too much
time on my hands. <shrug>

There are a few rsyncs to copy the CVS respository and /home (CVS is
under /home too), /usr/local/www and stuff to /backup, at roughly 3
hour intervals.

Anyway, it's just an opinion. Something to bear in mind. This is just
what I did with a pair of spare 40 gig disks...
