FreebSD 4.1 and sound cards

Thanks for the help. I have got the AC97 on board audio to work
now. Updating to 4.2-Stable fixed it. pcm detected both the cards
and set /dev/sndstat to

FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Nov 22 2000 13:59:27
Installed devices:
pcm0: <VIA VT82C686A AC'97 Audio> at io 0xb800 irq 10 (1p/1r channels duplex)
pcm1: <AudioPCI ES1371> at io 0xa400 irq 9 (1p/1r channels duplex)

The problem I have at present is with playing sound on the AudioPCI
ES1371.  It does not sound anything like the original. I am using
DAP to record the samples.
