Hello Chris,

I have never tried BTInternet, but I have previously tried BTClick with
similar responses.

The "not 8-bit clean" errors are probably just a red herring. The main
problem with BT (certainly with BTClick) is that they use CLI (Call Line
Identification) for all the authorisation. This can be affected by a
thousand different things like whether you have used the right phone, or
if it is ex-directory, or you are using a line from another provider such
as Eurobell etc.

I gave up with BT in the end, but I did have a solution from someone
written down somewhere. If I come across it in the near future, I will
e-mail you a copy.

Happy New Year,

Helen McCall
