Modem Problems

Hi All,

I recently been trying to set up my modem to work with FreeBSD 4.0 Release

I have set my brand new 3Com US Robotics 56K Faxmodem up on COM1, however,
when I try to communicate with it all that happens is the RD and SD lights
come on and stay on!

I am clearly pressing the wrong buttons in the wrong order.

Has anyone else had this problem ?

My system is a 486DX4100 and the COM ports appear as

sio0 at port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 flags 0x10 on isa0
sio0: type 16550A
sio1 at port 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3 on isa0
sio1: type 16550A

My installation is the GENERIC compile.
