Not to suggest that it shouldn't be easy for people from further afield
to attend, but, surely the whole idea of regional meetings is that they
suit the people in the region. I think we should get away from this
whole idea that everyone should attend all meetings everywhere and focus
on getting a local turnout for regional meetings. If only 6 people turn
up for a Brighton meeting then that should be seen as good. If 6 "local"
people turned up at regional meetings all over the country then we'd
really be starting to get somewhere. There's a role for national
get-togethers but I think we also need to foster local more casual
meetings on a much more frequent basis. Having said that, I hope to
attend :-)
