Possibly stupid question

Dear all,

This may be daft, but having moved to ntlworld I now find that
dial-on-demand ppp insists on redialling automatically whenever a
timeout occurs. If I specifically "close" it using pppctl this
doesn't happen...

ppp.linkdown is now empty, so it's nothing that I'm doing in there.

Named, sendmail and dhcpd are set not to listen on the tun0 interface.

Relevent bits of ppp.conf follow:

default:
  set device /dev/cuaa1
  set speed 115200
  deny lqr
set dial "ABORT BUSY ABORT NO\\sCARRIER TIMEOUT 5 \"\" AT&F1 OK
ATE1Q0 OK-AT-OK \\dATDT\\T TIMEOUT 40 CONNECT"

ntl:
  set phone 08005190100
set login "TIMEOUT 15 ogin:--ogin: XXXXXX word: XXXXXXX"
  set authname XXXXXX
  set authkey XXXXXXX
  set server 3000 XXXXXXX
  set timeout 415
  set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0
  add default HISADDR
  nat enable yes
  nat deny_incoming yes
  nat use_sockets yes
  nat log no
  disable sroutes
  set reconnect 3 5
  nat unregistered_only yes

Hopefully, somebody can help me...

All the best.
