Following on from Helen's instructions: It is easier, but more time consuming, than it looks. Conductive component bags and / or conductive foam pads (maplin are one possible source) help to avoid killing cards with static. An anti-static wrist-band, connected to the earthed computer chassis (cue for the dog collar joke?) is good for one's peace of mind too. -- Adrian Wontroba
