You want to comment out your lines which say
options         USERCONFIG              #boot -c editor
options         VISUAL_USERCONFIG       #visual boot -c editor


With these in, the kernel is using a kernel setup file
on your disk.
One of the entries in the kernel setup is
  config> di ed0

which disables the 'ed' NE2000 driver.

I assume your card is on IRQ12, base address 0x320, which
you put in the kernel config.
