I agree that you have to specify the device name if you try to unmount
the ~/cdrom mount point. Maybe umount needs an /etc/fstab entry also :-/
However, I can use the /cdrom mount point and the /etc/fstab entry with
no problem, as long as I own the /cdrom directory. Which makes it less
useful, but an understandable security measure.
